Epicycle can re-engineer your 8 valve Ducati into a road rocket, or turn it into a true fire-breathing monster. The following specifications are available: "Circolo", "Sportivo" , "Forza", or "Elefante 890"
 

  "Circolo" Specification
Performance Graphs


Suitable for:
888 or 916 motorcycles used for "Sports Road" riding or "Ride Day work". 
No machining of crankcases is required. 

The End Result:
Moderate increase in horsepower throughout rev range . 
Civilised power delivery for road usage. 
Engine reliability is in no way compromised. 
Normal service intervals may be observed. 
Approximate peak power 122-125 HP

Camshafts:
 "Circolo" camshaft set.
Manufactured from high tensile steel with tough Gas Nitrided surfaces.

Heads: Standard valve seats and ports. Seat throats enlarged & polished to suit larger valve sizes. Heads machined to increase compression. 
Pistons: Standard 94mm pistons with valve pockets machined. 
Crankshaft / Rods: Dynamically balance standard crankshaft & connecting rods. 
Exhaust System: Recommended to be used with big bore headers & silencers (min 50mm) although standard system may still be used.
Fuel System: "Twin Jet" Dual Injector Conversion using standard 50mm throttles. 
E.C.U  EM4 Engine Control Unit. PC programmable.
 
 
 

"Sportivo" Specification

Suitable for:
Converting 888 to 926cc or 916 to 955cc. used primarily for track use with occasional road use. 
Crankcases machining required except for the 916SP. 

The End Result:
Large increase in performance over Strada. 
Suitable for club racing or spirited road riding. 
Reliability is not compromised. 
Slight decrease in kilometres between service intervals. 
Approximate peak power 130-135 HP

Pistons: This engine specification requires the fitting of 96mm pistons & cylinders. 
Valve cutaways need machining. 
Crankshaft / Rods: Dynamically balance standard crankshaft & connecting rods. 
Exhaust System: Must be used with big bore exhaust system (50mm min) 
Fuel System: "Twin Jet" Dual Injector Conversion to standard 50mm throttles. 
E.C.U  EM4 Engine Control Unit. PC programmable.

 

"Forza" 955 Specification

Suitable for:
Converting 888 & 916 Strada's to Racing use. Not suitable for road use. Crankcase machining required except for 916SP. 

The End Result:

955cc. Large increase in power, particularly in the 8000 to 11000 RPM range. 
Engine reliability is good as long as overhaul schedule is observed. 
Approximate peak power 138/140 HP

"Elefante 890" Specification


Suitable for:

Converting 748 SP's to 890cc 

The End Result:

890cc. Large increase in power, particularly in the 6000 to 9000 RPM range. 
Engine reliability is good as long as overhaul schedule is observed. 
Approximate peak power 125 HP
